John Veerman — PhD in Biological Sciences

John Veerman will present his thesis defence on Friday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. in TH 315. The title of his thesis is “Competing Demands for a Complex System:  Photosystem II Repair, Photoprotection and Quantum Yield.”  Examining committee members are Joffre Mercier, chair; Douglas Campbell, Mount Allison University, external examiner; Douglas Bruce, supervisor; Ed Sternin, internal examiner; Gary Pickering and Jeffrey Atkinson, committee members.  All are welcome to attend.

Glynnis Fleming — Master of Education

Glynnis Fleming will present her thesis defence on Monday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. in WH 147. The title of the thesis is “Teachers’ Development and Negotiation of Meaning About Mathematics-for-Teaching Through the Use of Ontario Bansho Within Communities of Practice.” External examiner: Marian Small, professor emerita, University of New Brunswick; supervisor: Coral Mitchell; committee members: Renee Kuchapski and Ralph Connelly; chair of the examining committee: Susan Drake. Cathy VanderVliet — Master of Education

Cathy VanderVliet will present her thesis defence on Tuesday, March 1 at 2 p.m. in WH 147. The title of the thesis is “Teachers’ Processes of Negotiating Meaning of New Curriculum.” External examiner: Arlene Grierson, Nipissing University; supervisor: Coral Mitchell; committee members: Camille Rutherford and Alice Schutz; chair of the examining committee: Sheila Bennett.
