Town hall meeting planned for Dean search, Mathematics and Science

The advisory committee for the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Sciences invites all faculty and staff in the Faculty to attend a town hall meeting to provide advice to the committee on the development of the “position profile”.

As many members of the advisory committee as possible will be in attendance to listen carefully to your input. The committee would ask that you organize your thoughts around three main questions:

  1. What are the most important issues/matters that the next Dean will face?
  2. What role should the Dean play in addressing the issues/matters identified?
  3. What are the most important qualities/competencies that the candidate must have?

Two town hall meetings are scheduled in an attempt to give everyone an opportunity to attend at least one of the meetings:

Wednesday, Oct. 27, 10 to 11:30 a.m., E-Classroom (TH 253)
and
Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1:30 to 3 p.m., E-Classroom (TH 253)

In addition, the committee welcomes written responses to the questions noted above. Such signed, written material must be received by Nov. 5, 2010 and can be submitted online at brocku.ca/vp-academic/senior-academic-searches/dean-of-math, or in writing to:

Dr. Murray Knuttila, Chair
Advisory Committee for Dean of Mathematics and Sciences
