The holiday Giving Tree

Brock staff donated scarves, mittens and other warm-weather wear to the Giving Tree in the lobby of the Schmon Tower throughout December. Many of the items were hand made by Brock staff for the annual drive. The items were donated to Community Care.

About 20 staff also visited Community Care and Project SHARE (Support, Housing, Awareness, Resources and Emergency) Dec. 22 and 23 to sort and stock shelves with food donations.

Both Community Care and Project SHARE collect food and donations to assist low-income residents of Niagara.

Brock Dining Services also donated thousands to local charities after winning the Sodexo Foundation chocolate bar sales contest last year.

The prize included a $3,000 donation to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold and $1,000 for the management team. The management team donated its prize money to purchase toys and clothes for Gilliam’s Place, a centre for abused women and children in Niagara.
