Research

Terrance Wade is the Canada Research Chair in Youth and Wellness and Professor and Chair in the Department of Community Health Sciences. He received his PhD in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario and did his post-doctoral studies in Community Health and Psychiatric Epidemiology at the University of Calgary. His research employs a multi-disciplinary, population-focused perspective to investigate the social and structural determinants of child health and development, examining life trajectories that lead to a variety of childhood, adolescent and adult health outcomes. In this capacity, he has worked on several funded projects both in Canada and the United States that focus on factors that increase the resilience of children and adults across a broad array of health outcomes. He is currently working on a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO) study that is examining the social determinants of child hypertension.
