PROFESSOR’S SON IS DROWNED
Child of W. I. Thomas of the University of Chicago Loses Life at Paw Paw.

 New was received yesterday at the University of Chicago of the drowning on Wednesday at Paw Paw lake, Mich., of William Thomas, the 8 year old son of Prof. W. I. Thomas of the department of sociology.

Mrs. Thomas and three children were spending the summer at Paw Paw. The professor was called away Wednesday by a telegram announcing that the child was missing. Later it was learned that the boy was drowned while fishing.

The body was not recovered.
